Family Child Care Homes (relative providers) need only be registered with the Cherokee Nation, but meet the same licensing requirements. A client can choose to have a relative to provide care. The relative must be one of the following to the child: grandparent, great grandparent, immediate aunt or uncle, or adult sibling (18 years or older) residing in own home. The relative provider must go into the office to apply when the client applies.
